Humble Beginnings:

Founded in 2019 by organic skincare formulator, Erin Schmidt, a mom in her perimenopausal journey with very sensitive skin. Bella Vida emerged from humble beginnings in a Santa Barbara bungalow kitchen. Erin’s journey began with a personal struggle: years of cystic acne and the unique challenges of her mature, sensitive skin as a woman going through perimenopause. Now she is battling pre-cancer spots on her skin that are regularly monitored by her dermatologist.

As a woman with high-functioning Autism (aka. Asperger's or Neurdivergent), Erin discovered she is highly sensitive to scent, texture and harsh ingredients.  She was driven to solve these issues for herself and her daughter with moderate Autism. After losing her mother to blood cancer and leukemia, Erin was driven to seek cleaner, safer products for her family and herself. Her experience with irritating skincare treatments left her longing for alternatives that were gentle on the skin, the body, and the planet.

Bella Vida SB reflects Erin’s dedication to creating an elegant, botanical-based skincare line that marries efficacy with ethical integrity.
