Our Clean Beauty Standards
We believe in transparency, honesty and educating our customers about what's in our formulas (and what is not!).
We don't want to scare you- we want to educate you to give you the knowledge so you can make informed decisions about what you buy and put on your skin.
If you are going through menopause, your skin is more fragile and needs to be cared for differently than it was in the "good old days." We've taken the guess work out it for you.
Ingredients we have banned in our retail line:
Animal derived or tested ingredients of any kind, including honey, royal jelly, beeswax, musk, snail mucin, beef tallow, lanolin, keratin, carmine, etc.
Nano zinc oxide or titanium dioxide
Phthalates- potential carcinogens often found in parfum/fragrances
Parabens- potential endocrine disruptors
Talc- research suggests it is harmful to your health
PEG's
Polysorbates
Carbomer
EDTA's- not biodegradable
Chemical Sunscreens- some research suggests it can harm ocean life
Cyclic Silicones- not biodegradable
PFA's or PFC's (perfluorinated compounds- aka Forever Chemicals which don't biodegrade or leave your body)
Toluene
Hydroquinone
Aluminum compounds
BHA
PVC
Allergens such as soy, nut oils and latex (always read directions carefully if you have severe allergies)
This is not an exhaustive list. We always try to avoid any ingredients found in research to be toxic or potentially dangerous to the human body, animals or Mother Earth.
Ingredients we have reduced or eliminated to be more natural for consumers:
Essential Oils and Flavor Oils: If you are sensitive or have an allergy to essential oils or flavor oils, we now offer unscented versions of our skincare and lip balms. Our fine fragrances meet very strict EU and UK guidelines for having no harmful ingredients.
Phenoxyethanol preservative entirely or under 1% in our spa line clay masks.
Retinyl palmitate (retinol)- We eliminated retinol in our line as it has been shown to cause sun sensitivity. Something we don't want for our customers. Some research has suggested an increase in potential cancer causing cells with use of retinol during the day.
Japanese Honeysuckle which can be a potential endocrine disruptor, similar to parabens
Emulsifying Wax or Petroleum based ingredients- which often comes from petroleum (aka. from the oil/gas industry) and is not biodegradable. It is "safe" for skin, but not the planet.
Artificial fragrances and dyes- often contain carcinogens
Unethically sourced ingredients:
Mica unless sustainably and ethically sourced not using child labor
No Unethical Palm Oil: We use only RSPO/Mass Balance certified Palm Oil derived ingredients so it is verified to not destroy rain forest habitats.
Anything that potentially harms bees: Bees are vital to Mother Earth's natural rhythms and food supply and we want to avoid disrupting their habitats and health.

To research why these ingredients are not considered clean, you can learn more by viewing the Credo Beauty Dirty List or Whole Foods clean standards.
As more research is done into the effect of certain ingredients used in the cosmetics, we have made sure to keep in step with current standards across UK and EU, which have far stricter standards then the US.
Our cleaner packaging:
We take our commitment to green standards seriously so we use glass and offering recycling of components made of plastic with Terracycle. Please visit our Sustainability page for more details.
